Camphill Village USA Inc.
Camphill Village USA, Inc. is an intentional community for adults with developmental disabilities (villagers), co-workers, and their children. Located in the verdant rolling hills outside of Copake, NY the Village is a model in life-sharing communities. Founded by Karl Konig, the Camphill Movement is inspired by Anthroposophy - the philosophy, world view, and spiritual path of Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925).
As part of the implementation of our Master Plan we have installed a number of solar PV systems to offset the electricity use with electricity from a renewable energy source. These systems are:
- Columbine (completed 2008) on a flat roof
- Russet & Brookledge (completed 2009) on poles
- 50kW ground-mounted solar array in one of our fields that will benefit Lirio (completed 2013), Hickory (completed 2014) and our Woodshop via remote net metering.
Total of 80.0kW installed.
