Camphill Village USA, Inc. is an intentional community for adults with developmental disabilities (villagers), co-workers, and their children. Located in the verdant rolling hills outside of Copake, NY the Village is a model in life-sharing communities. Founded by Karl Konig, the Camphill Movement is inspired by Anthroposophy - the philosophy, world view, and spiritual path of Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925).

With recent renovations of three of our houses, Columbine (completed in 2008), Russet & Brookledge (expected completion July 2009) we added solar PV panels to offset the electricity use with electricity from a renewable energy source.

Panels at Columbine are installed on the flat roof. Total installed 9.90kW.

The roofs at Russet & Brookledge were too small to take the panels for each house and so we ended up installing the panels on posts in an adjacent field. In summer the cows will graze underneath the panels!!

Configuration of 48 panels (12 per pole) for each house with a total of 21.0kW installed.
