Stonyfield 50 kW PV Plant, Londonderry, NH
About Our PV Array
The Stonyfield Farm photovoltaic plant was first installed in August 2005 as the largest PV array in the state of New Hampshire. In 2012, we completed an upgrade that moved the panels to an adjacent roof, where they are laid out around our new daylight harvesting system. Light tubes in our dry storage warehouse now provide natural sunlight to the once entirely artificially-lit space, and the solar panels provide all the electricity needed to power all of the remaining lighting needed in that space!
The solar array powers eight SMA Sunny Boy 6000 inverters, which convert the array's DC voltage into utility-grade AC power. The solar energy we generate helps offset over 50,000 kWh per year of purchased electricity, and reduces greenhouse gases associated with the generation of power from fossil fuels.
