Description:

This is a 8.0kW installation on the Somers, CT Fire Department. It consists of two seperate arrays. The first 5.4kW array was installed December 2010 and consists of 24 US made Siliken PV modules and uses an SMA SB5000US inverter. The modules are mounted on an ashpalt composition shingle roof using flashed footings lag bolted to the building roof trusses. A standard system of aluminum rails and brackets holds the panels in place.

The second array is a 2.6kW system expansion that was installed June of 2012. It features US made black thin-film Abound Solar AB1-65 modules mounted as an awning above the fire engine bay doors. The whole system is installed on a custom built aluminum framework anchor bolted to the brick wall. This array utilizes ana SMA SB3000US inverter.
