NCCL School System Details
Center for Creative Learning
Founded in 1971, NCCL School is a small, parent-cooperative school with an enrollment of 90 children, ages 5 to 14, 1st through 8th grade age. With a student-teacher ratio of 11 to 1, NCCL offers a supportive, hands-on, student-centered education to all children. Our primary goal is to inspire and encourage students to take responsibility for themselves and their own education. Our talented teachers create environments and relationships that capitalize on children's interest and curiosity.
Our goal at the Newark Center for Creative Learning is to help children gain an appreciation of learning and to become confident and proactive learners throughout their lives. By providing an environment where children feel free to take risks and to discover and be recognized for their individual skills and talents, we are able to help them achieve this goal.

It has been a long-standing mission of NCCL to teach their students the importance of caring for their environment, as well as to be a model for their local community. In keeping with this mission NCCL installed solar panels which will provide most of the school's electricity.
Our Photovoltaic System is completely grid interconnected, and does not use any batteries. We have 90 solar panels, each of which are rated at 210 watts, for a total system size of 18.9 kW DC. Our three inverters, each rated at 6kW AC are arranged to maximize energy harvest.
The major components:
- 90 Schuco SPV210 SMAU-1 Solar Modules, 210 watts each
- 3 SMA SB6000US Inverters
Our system was designed and installed by CMI Electric. They handled all the permiting, grant, and interconnection details. They also sell our Renewable Energy Credits for us.
